Barco del Corneta 2024 is a white wine that dazzles with its elegance and freshness. Upon approaching the nose, vibrant aromas of green apple and pear emerge, accompanied by a subtle citrus touch reminiscent of lemon peel and a delightful herbal note. On the palate, its freshness is undeniable, with an acidity that invites another sip and a balanced body that caresses the palate. About Barco del Corneta

Barco del Corneta is a white wine crafted by the winery Barco del Corneta in La Seca, V.T. Castilla y León.

In 2008, Beatriz Herranz returned to La Seca, Valladolid, to her family's vineyards to embark on her new venture, aiming to capture the true essence of Verdejo.

She cultivates her entire vineyard according to the principles of organic farming, respecting the variety, the soil, and the climate. These vineyards are situated in the Paraje de Cantarranas, La Seca, on sandy soils with abundant pebbles and clay-limestone at deeper layers. The climate is continental, characterised by cold and dry winters.

Barco del Corneta is an organic single-varietal Verdejo wine. Hand-harvested in 15 kg boxes, it undergoes a 24-hour maceration followed by a natural 24-hour settling. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels. The ageing process lasts less than a year on its lees in 300-litre French oak barrels.

Barco del Corneta 2023 is akin to a countryside stroll at dawn. Its fresh and vibrant aroma unfolds with the intensity of tangerine peel, accompanied by herbal notes of hay and straw that impart a rustic charm. On the palate, it is a wine of character, flavourful and full of vitality, with a chalky granularity that lends an elegant and mineral touch. The dry and slightly bitter finish, characteristic of the variety, leaves a refreshing trace that beckons continued enjoyment. A Verdejo unlike many others.

Barco del Corneta 2022 beckons us to relish its youthful exuberance complemented by a hint of maturity. On the nose, this white wine unveils a symphony of green apple and peach, interwoven with subtle flashes of lemon and an aura of freshly cut grass, characteristic of the Verdejo grape. On the palate, it caresses with a creamy texture that juxtaposes its vibrant freshness, crafting a crisp and pure profile. This wine articulates the essence of its terroir with each sip, displaying a harmony between fruit and oak that both delights and astonishes.

Barco del Corneta 2021 is a creamy white wine with a complex nose of tropical fruit, dried fruit notes and lactic hints. On the palate it is flavoursome, mineral and well balanced. A medium-bodied wine that is saline and sweet at the same time, ample and with great aging potential.
2018

Barco del Corneta 2018 is an aromatic white wine boasting intense aromas of ripe fruit, spicy nuances, and hints of oak. On the palate, it is unctuous, expansive, and well-structured. This wine offers a textured mouthfeel and culminates in a prolonged, bitter finish with toasted undertones.

 
2017 Barco del Corneta 2017 is a creamy white wine with aromas of ripe white fruit, notes of freshly cut grass and buttery touches. On the palate it is unctuous, complex and flavoursome. It stands out for being fresh, mineral and very balanced from beginning to end.
2016 Barco del Corneta 2016 is a silky, elegant and highly varietal wine, without the typical tropical aromas associated with the more technological verdejos. A magnificent vintage that provides balance on the palate, together with volume and freshness in equal parts.
2015 Barco del Corneta 2015 is a silky, sophisticated, and distinctly varietal wine, devoid of the typical tropical aromas found in more technologically produced Verdejos. An outstanding vintage that bestows a harmonious balance on the palate, with equal parts body and vivacity.
2011 In the mouth, this wine is wide, unctuous and bulky and shows a great subtly integrated acidity which makes it deep and crispy. This is a fresh, aromatic and tasty wine, with a good long and persistent finish full of fruity and spicy notes.  A white wine with a great personality.

Nice pale straw yellow colour with light greenish and golden reflections. Clean and very bright.

Very pleasant intense and deep aromatic set. Its notes of ripe white fruit, citrus peel, light spicy aromas and anises are felt along with hints of freshly cut grass, hay, subtle and creamy nuances of bakery and elegant toasted touches.
