Juanjo Tellaetxe Tantaka 2023 emerges this year as a young white wine, flaunting an attractive straw-yellow hue with greenish reflections. Its aroma evokes a spring afternoon, with a fresh sensation of fruits such as green apple and melon, complemented by a citrus hint of fresh lemon and a delicate balsamic nuance. About Juanjo Tellaetxe Tantaka

Juanjo Tellaetxe Tantaka is a white wine aged on lees made with the Hondarribi Zuri variety in the D.O. Arabako-txakolina (Basque Country) by Juanjo Tellaetxe.

Juanjo Tellaetxe made his dream a reality when he implemented his work philosophy in the Arrastaria Valley vineyards (Álava) to make honest wines with a strong local character. To do that, the Tantaka winery is committed to using native varieties, cultivated in an environmentally-respectful way and with minimum intervention in the winery.

Juanjo Tellaetxe Tantaka comes from vineyards in a spectacular location. These are vineyards planted in alluvial and clay-limestone soils 330 metres above sea level and influenced by a continental climate. They use organic agriculture and techniques from last century that do not harm the environment. When the grape is ready, it is manually harvested.

In the winery, the Juanjo Tellaetxe Tantaka grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts at a controlled temperature. Then the wine is allowed to rest on its lees for 5 months.

Juanjo Tellaetxe Tantaka is the result of reviving a traditional way of working, where honesty in production and respect for the environment are the two key priorities. A pure Txacoli.
