About Domaine de la Tournelle Uva Arbosiana

Domaine de la Tournelle Uva Arbosiana is a single-variety Ploussard (Poulsard) red wine produced by Domaine de la Tournelle in the AOC Arbois in Jura, France.

 

Domaine de la Tournelle Uva Arbosiana is made with grapes that come from vineyards with early Jurassic gray marl soils and are harvested manually. The bunches are destemmed by hand in the vineyard itself and the berries are placed whole (without crushing) in open cylindrical vats and saturated with carbon dioxide (carbonic maceration) without added sulphites. The contents are removed after a month of carbonic maceration.  

 

Alcoholic fermentation takes place with native yeast in tanks and malolactic fermentation also happens in tanks. The resulting wine finally ages in foudres for three or four months in the safety of cool cellars. It is bottled without clarifying or filtering and with natural carbon dioxide.

 

Domaine de la Tournelle Uva Arbosiana is a very special wine with its own personality. Made according to the principles of organic agriculture and with minimal intervention, Evelyne and Pascal Clairet, owners of Domaine de la Tournelle, enhance the character of the terroir and showcase the Arbois identity through one of its flagship red varieties.

 

2018 Domaine de la Tournelle Uva Arbosiana 2018 is a smooth red wine with a character similar to that of a Pinot Noir wine but with a more rustic and flavoursome personality. On the nose it offers aromas of fresh and wild red fruits, with a woody nuance. A delicate and absolutely delicious red.
