About Domaine de la Butte Le Haut de la Butte

Domaine de la Butte Le Haut de la Butte is an organic red wine made with the Cabernet Franc variety, and produced by Domaine de la Butte-Jacky Blot in the Bourgueil appellation, in France.

Jacky Blot, owner of the Domaine de la Butte, bottles his Cabernet Franc depending on the location of the strains that, in the case of this wine in particular, Domaine de la Butte Le Haut de la Butte, come from Le Haut de la butte, i.e. the top of the hill. These vineyards are on calcareous soil and are south-facing, on one of the most beautiful slopes on the right bank of the Loire, a privileged location for obtaining high quality wines.

In addition, in Domaine de la Butte the vines are cultivated with respect for the environment, since no insecticides or other chemical additives are used; the harvest is carried out manually and the grapes are sorted in the vineyard before being taken to the winery. The wine is aged in used oak barrels.

Although Jacky Blot has played a decisive role in the development and dissemination of white wines from the Montlouis area, today it also stands out for the quality of the red wines it produces, such as this Domaine de la Butte Le Haut de la Butte, which is, without a doubt, one of the best Bourgueils being produced today.
2017 Domaine de la Butte Le Haut de la Butte 2017 is a concentrated red wine with ageing, which presents notes of cassis, blackberries and berries and that mineral typicity so characteristic of the wines of the area: graphite, pencil lead. On the palate it is fresh and velvety, with fine tannins that give it elegance. Its finish is persistent and fresh.
