About De Muller Rancio Seco

It is said that Christopher Columbus resided at Mas de Valls, the current headquarters of bodega De Muller. Did you know that this place, steeped in history and mystery, holds fascinating secrets?

Since its founding in 1851, De Muller has borne witness to numerous stories, from its prestigious title as Papal Suppliers, granted by popes from Pius X to John XXIII, to its connections with the Royal House. This legacy, rooted in tradition and respect for the terroir, is reflected in each of its wines.

Over the generations, the winery has adapted, pioneering the incorporation of new technologies and methods, without losing the essence of its origins in Tarragona (Spain), where varieties are cultivated that give life to wines of great character and distinction. Among the jewels of its collection is De Muller Rancio Seco, a unique wine that challenges the traditional perception of the term "rancio."

Rancio, far from being a flaw, is the result of an oxidative aging in barrels, where contact with the air imparts a unique complexity. Crafted under the static solera system, De Muller Rancio Seco reveals a marvellous concentration of aromas and flavours, a true sensory feast. Its aging endows it with exceptional smoothness and balance, and despite being a dry wine, it conveys a subtle sweetness from its maturation notes. This wine originates from the estates with the greatest sun exposure, allowing it to develop grapes with high sugar content, ideal for this special production.

De Muller Rancio Seco is not merely a fortified wine; it is an experience, a tribute to the region's winemaking history, and an invitation to uncover the deepest secrets of De Muller's tradition.
