About Clase Azul Tequila Plata

Tequila is a beverage, specifically a distilled spirit produced in Jalisco, a region of Mexico. If it is not made in this location, it cannot be considered tequila. However, tequila is much more than that: it is a meeting point, a bridge between two worlds, with its devoted enthusiasts and its critics. According to some studies, its origins trace back to the 16th century when Spanish settlers began distilling the fermented juice of the blue agave. Today, five centuries later, this connection remains as strong and vibrant as ever, an achievement not all beverages can boast. Companies like Clase Azul continue to demonstrate this with their Clase Azul Tequila Plata.

Entirely handcrafted and unaged. Clase Azul Tequila Plata is a fundamental tequila, the first step to ascend in this universe of flavours and nuances: a very special tequila crafted in Los Altos de Jalisco. In this region, with a temperate subhumid climate and reddish mineral-rich soil, the blue agave thrives. This plant, resembling a giant pineapple, is a variety from the Agavaceae family, indigenous to Mexico, and only from it can true tequila be derived. Any other beverage made from a different plant in this family may be a fine spirit, but it can never be considered genuine tequila. This fact is crucial to avoid being deceived, as the production process of Clase Azul Tequila Plata is lengthy and complex. Initially, after the plant's leaves are removed (a process known as jima), the sugars found in the plant's core are extracted. This is achieved through cooking in masonry ovens, thereby obtaining the must which will be fermented. In the case of Clase Azul Tequila Plata, this process is carried out using patented yeasts, achieving a unique and unrepeatable profile.

Finally, Clase Azul Tequila Plata undergoes a double distillation in copper stills. At Clase Azul, they are staunch advocates of time and the influence of wood on tequila. However, with Clase Azul Tequila Plata, they choose naturalness and the purest expression of agave, without barrel aging. Nothing compares to what has been tasted until now.
