Billaud-Simon Chablis 1er Cru Vaulorent is a barrel-aged white wine made by Billaud-Simon with the Chardonnay variety in the AOC Chablis Premier Cru in Burgundy (France).

Billaud-Simon is a legendary winery in the “Golden Gate of Burgundy”. A family business that changed radically when Bernard Billaud and his nephew Samuel Billaud took over in the 80s. They mainly seek maximum expression in the vineyard and maximum fruitiness in the winery. As a result, they create pure, elegant and highly mineral wines with an international reputation.

Billaud-Simon Chablis 1er Cru Vaulorent comes from a 50-year-old 155-hectare vineyard planted in clay-calcareous soils. The terroir has a marine origin and is full of iodine, which provides the characteristic typicity and distinction of this 1er Cru. They use traditional agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.

In the winery, the Billaud-Simon Chablis 1er Cru Vaulorent grapes go through an pneumatic press and the must undergoes a cold maceration of about 5-7 days. Then fermentation begins for 15 and 18 days. Finally the wine ages for 14-16 months in stainless steel tanks.
