About Valdesil Godello Sobre Lías

Valdesil is a white wine from D.O. Valdeorras produced by the winery Valdesil.
The winery is located in Villamartín de Valdeorras (Orense). 

Valdesil is made with the Godello variety. The grapes come from a selection of small vineyard farms of 30 years located at around 500 metres of altitude and planted on slate slopes. 

The harvest is carried out completely manually and the grapes are transported quickly to the winery, where they go through a careful selection on a sorting table.

For its production, with the grapes already at the winery, they first go through a first skin contact maceration and a static settling process. The fermentation is carried out with native yeasts in stainless steel deposits.
In the same fermentation deposits, Valdesil goes through a short ageing for 5 months on its lees. During this process, and through a periodic batonnage, what is known as autolysis takes place, that is, the rupture of the cell wall of the yeasts that will give the wine creaminess, density and greater structure.

Valdesil Godello Sobre Lías 2023 is unveiled as a white wine that delights with its subtle complexity. As it is brought closer to the nose, a bouquet unfurls, reminiscent of fruits such as green apple and lemon, intertwined with a distinctive mineral undertone. On the palate, its creamy texture envelops the taste buds, while its well-balanced acidity and fine lees notes provide a refreshing and lingering sensation. 2022

Valdesil Godello Sobre Lías 2022 is a white wine that envelops you with its vibrancy and sophistication. On the nose, it unfolds scents of lemon and grapefruit, accompanied by a mineral hint reminiscent of wet stone. Upon tasting, its creamy and velvety texture caresses the palate, while a zesty acidity adds liveliness. The fine lees notes confer a delicate complexity, resulting in an opulent and harmonious wine that beckons another sip.
2016 Valdesil 2016 is a mature, creamy and elegant white wine. In this vintage, the aromas of white stone fruit stand out, with citrus, balsamic and mineral notes. On the palate, it is silky and ample, with a long and fresh finish.
2014 Refreshing and well-structured, with a captivating, velvety mouthfeel. Harmoniously balanced acidity. Lingering finish.

Straw yellow hue with greenish glints.

Pleasing mineral, balsamic, and fruity aromas.
2013 On the palate it has pleasant citrus features, accompanied by a perfect smoothness, as well as a good acidity.

Complex white colour

On the nose it has fine lees and mineral hints.
2010 Tasty and embracing attack. Silky, smooth and slightly fruity mid palate. Correct acidity. Pleasant and harmonious wine. Very persistent finish with a slight bitterness.  A very elegant Godello.

Pale yellow colour with green reflections. Bright and clean.



Soft and pleasant aromas. Its notes of stone fruit (peach), white fruit (apples), citrus and tropical fruit (pineapple) emerge along with the aromas of flowers and herbs on a mineral background.
2009 Tasty and embracing attack. Silky, smooth and slightly fruity mid palate. Correct acidity. Pleasant and harmonious wine. Very persistent finish with a slight bitterness.  A very elegant Godello.
