Tasting notes La Petite Église 2025 en Primeur
Red wine Aged in wood Respectful agriculture.
La Petite Église 2025 is a red wine that opens with a refined and elegant expression of red and black fruit, where ripe currants and juicy plums intertwine with a subtle background of spices and liquorice. On the nose, it conveys a sense of restrained precision, as if everything is effortlessly in place. On the palate, it presents as medium-bodied, with a compact yet fluid texture, supported by a lively acidity that imparts tension and dynamism. The tannins, firm yet polished, outline a fine structure that accompanies a brilliantly defined fruit. The finish is clean and persistent, with a saline touch that invites one to linger a moment longer in that elegant calm.

About La Petite Église
Have you noticed that some of the most intriguing discoveries often arrive quietly?
La Petite Église is a red wine originating from Pomerol (Bordeaux, France), conceived from a simple idea: viewing the same landscape from a different perspective. It was the personal project of Denis Durantou, the man behind some of the region's most esteemed wines, who sought to give voice to parcels of sandy gravel with their own distinct character. Since then, this small vineyard has continued its journey discreetly, adhering to a vision where precision matters more than grand gestures.
Here, everything seems to move with a studied calm. The vines, now over four decades old, find in these light soils a particularly fresh and luminous way to express themselves. Merlot dominates the blend, accompanied by a hint of Cabernet Franc that adds tension and depth. Barrel aging completes the profile of a wine with a smooth and elegant texture, where ripe fruit coexists with a sense of balance that feels as natural as it is compelling.
La Petite Église is one of those wines that fits perfectly on a long table at the end of the afternoon, when the conversation has found its rhythm, one of your favourite vinyl records is playing in the background, and no one is watching the clock. A serene, contemporary Pomerol full of subtle details best discovered without haste.
