There are ascents that do not require spotlights to be evident. No campaigns, no flamboyance, no narratives constructed with dramatic impact. Some simply occur over time, with coherence and an identity that gradually asserts itself.
In the heart of Échevronne, in Burgundy, between Beaune and Nuits-Saint-Georges, the Féry family has, since the late 1980s, established an estate that now encompasses approximately 14 hectares across some of the most esteemed appellations of the Côte d'Or, from Gevrey-Chambertin to Puligny-Montrachet.
Jean-Louis Féry took over the modest family farm in 1988 and, without dramatic upheavals or grandiose statements, transformed it into one of the most respected properties in contemporary Burgundy. It was a foundational, patient endeavour, almost imperceptible in its pace, yet very clear in its direction.
Since 2011, the winery has been certified in organic agriculture (Ecocert), although its philosophy extends beyond the certification: absolute respect for the vineyard, minimal intervention, and a highly precise interpretation of the climat. To achieve this, it relies on manual harvesting, restrained use of new oak, and a constant pursuit of varietal purity.
This Bourgogne Pinot Noir is precisely that; a clean and unadorned interpretation of the pinot noir in a Burgundian style. After 15 months of barrel aging, the wine expresses itself with natural elegance, without the need for emphasis. Fine fruit, delicate texture, and that characteristic sensation of the Côte d'Or when everything is in balance. A Bourgogne that does not need to raise its voice to remind you why this region remains one of the great benchmarks in the world of wine.
