About Finca la Estacada Selección Varietales

Finca La Estacada Selección Varietales 18 Meses is a wine from the Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla D.O region, produced by Finca la Estacada. This wine is a blend of 4 grape varieties, Tempranillo, which dominates over the other 3 grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah.

This wine is aged in American and French oak barrels for 18 months, and then rests for another 7 in the bottle.

The typical climate of the Cueca area, where the vineyards are located, is mediterranean, with an average temperatura of 12-16ºC. There is a vast change between the temperatura at night and day, which gives the wine a special flavour. Rainfull is rather moderate in the area, and during the ripening period, temperaturas drop, which prevents the grapes being exposed to certain diseases.

Finca La Estacada is located in Tarracón, in the Cuenca province. It is owned by the Cantarero Rodríguez, who own almost 300 hectares of vineyards and is quite renowned in the world of wine despite having started his career in 2001.

Finca la Estacada Selección Varietales 2019 is a red wine that presents an intriguing blend of gentle spices and ripe nuances. On the nose, it unfolds an array of toasted aromas complemented by the vibrancy of red fruits such as cherries and raspberries. Upon tasting, it is broad and meaty, revealing a delicate texture interwoven with understated hints of oak that contribute to its structure. This wine boasts concentration and a presence that is discernible without being overpowering.
2016 Finca la Estacada Selección Varietales 2016 is a mature red wine redolent with scents of ripe red and black fruits, balsamic hints, and nuances of minerals and coffee. On the palate, it is smooth, vibrant, and expansive. A wine characterized by silky tannins and a lingering, sophisticated finish.
2008 Expansive and nuanced, meaty yet refined. Invigorating, gentle, and exquisite.

Deeply layered, cherry-red hue.

Sophisticated complexity. Hints of cocoa and coffee. The oak aging is discernible, as is the contribution of the different grape varieties.
2006 Mouth is elegant and large, succulent and subtle, with tones of woods and toasted notes, not forgetting the black plums and blueberries. Marked by the freshness, perhaps as characteristic of the area and is delicate, soft, balanced and very seductive.

Red layer can pillory, with ruby edging.
