About Bucciarelli Chianti Classico Riserva

Primarily renowned for his sculpture of David and the painting of the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475–1564) was one of the most eminent artists of the Italian Renaissance and is regarded as one of the universal geniuses in the history of art. As a true artist, he also knew how to savour life's pleasures. This is evidenced by the records of Podere Casanova, an estate he owned in Chianti from which wine was sent directly to his residence in Florence.

The estate remained in the hands of the Buonarroti family until 1863. Over time, after some ups and downs, the Bucciarelli family, who were sharecroppers, eventually purchased the estate in 1982 and began bottling Chianti Classico according to their own vision: respect for the terroir, quality, and authenticity.

Bucciarelli Chianti Classico Riserva is a perfect embodiment of this philosophy. The noble sangiovese, canaiolo, and merlot grapes, sourced from organically managed vineyards, are hand-harvested to select only the finest bunches. After harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, preserving their fresh and fruity aromas. The ageing process takes place over 30 to 36 months in large oak barrels, developing a complexity and depth that make it a truly special wine. Before being released to the market, it rests for an additional 3 months in the bottle, refining its nuances and harmony.
