About Astobiza Vermouth Extra

Astobiza Vermouth Extra is the first vermouth in the world to be made with wines of the Hondarribi Zuri variety, one of the flagship grapes of txakoli, the traditional white wine of the Basque Country.
 
The Astobiza Vermouth Extra vermouth was not born by accident. To make this premium vermouth, hundreds of tests have been carried out to find the exact combination that results in a vermouth with a balance between bitterness and acidity that goes hand in hand with a long, clean and fresh palate. 
 
The magic was born from demijohn number 3, which was among the 12 that were used for testing. A secret combination of botanicals is macerated here, where the balance between citrus, herbal and bitter notes is also sought. The added alcohol comes from Astobiza London Dry Gin, which has been recognised as the Best Gin in Spain 2020 at the World Gin Awards. What more could you ask for!
 
When the white vermouth reaches the desired standards of quality and balance, it is bottled, but a small amount is reserved for the production of an exclusive and gastronomic red vermouth which, together with the white vermouth, gives rise to an infinite dance of colours and flavours.
 
With such a careful production process, using high quality ingredients, combined with an exclusive presentation, it is not surprising that Astobiza Vermouth Extra was named the Best Semi-sweet Vermouth in the world at the World Vermouth Awards 2021. Now all that remains is to try it.
