About Sierra de Toloño Tereseño

Atop the Sierra de Toloño, where nature reveals itself in all its splendour, wines are born that encapsulate the pure essence of their surroundings. From this privileged setting, overlooking the Ebro valley and the snow-capped peaks of La Demanda, emerges Sierra de Toloño Tereseño, a red wine that mirrors the history and soul of the DOCa. Rioja, crafted with the hands of tradition, yet with an eye on the future.
 
The Sierra de Toloño winery has become a benchmark in the world of organic and biodynamic wine. Its high-altitude vineyards boast a rich history. Sierra de Toloño Tereseño is produced from garnacha vines planted in 1944, at an elevation of 700 metres. Here, the vines grow amidst rockrose and holm oaks, on calcareous soils with a superficial stone layer, shielded by the mountains from the northern chill, endowing its grapes with an unmistakable freshness and purity.
 
Sierra de Toloño Tereseño is a single-vineyard wine crafted in an artisanal manner and in limited production, with only about 600 bottles. After a meticulous harvest, the must ferments spontaneously in amphorae at low temperatures, ensuring a delicate and natural extraction of aromas and flavours. Its maturation for a year in the same amphorae accentuates the grape's elegance and freshness, without the need for filtering or fining.
 
This red wine invites one to embark on a journey of sensations that captures the full expressiveness of the landscape; the pure essence of a special corner of La Rioja in a wine that celebrates the land, tradition, and time.
