About Sierra de Toloño Nahikun Blanco

Where the wind gently caresses the slopes and the landscape unfolds in all its grandeur, a wine is born that encapsulates in its name the entire aspiration of an oenologist who has learned to live with tranquillity and without haste. Nahikun, which means "desire" in Basque, is much more than a white wine: it is the realisation of a dream forged with effort, passion, and love for the land. Sandra Bravo, having traversed various wine regions of the world, found her place in the world among the old vineyards of Villabuena de Álava (la Rioja Alavesa). Here, surrounded by mountains and marked by the footprints of tradition, she has brought to life a personal project where nature sets the pace and every gesture adheres to its time.
 
Sierra de Toloño Nahikun Blanco originates in El Coster, a sloping vineyard on visible stone slabs that Sandra began to cultivate with great care, despite many warning her about the challenges of working in such an area. Yet it was precisely this resilience that gave Nahikun its name: a wine crafted from grapes of century-old vineyards, cultivated in a 100% organic and biodynamic manner. The result is a unique, fresh, and mineral white, made with a blend of viura, malvasía, calagraño, and rojal, which ferments with its lees and is aged in 500-litre barrels for eight months, preserving its purity and original character.
 
Every sip of Nahikun Blanco reflects the soul of the landscape where its vines grow. The floral and luscious notes intertwine with the minerality of the calcareous soil and the gentle smoky traces, inviting those who taste it to discover the serenity of the Sierra de Toloño. This wine, with its limited production of just 2000 bottles, is perfect for accompanying special moments: from a light and fresh meal to a conversation among friends in the afternoon light. A wine that has been crafted with patience, respect, and a profound connection to the land.
