About Rotem & Mounir Saouma Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Magis
Quoted from Leonardo da Vinci himself "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication". In other words, simplicity appears only after deliberation and experience. The process consists of trying to delve into the depths of complexity to really understand the object. In this way the obvious is eliminated and only the significant is captured. Under this premise Rotem & Mounir Saouma, a couple of producers who already have a lot of experience making wines in Burgundy under the brand Lucien Le Moine, open horizons in their encounter with the Rhône to apply this philosophy of work based on simplicity.
Their Rotem & Mounir Saouma Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Magis, a white wine made from the Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Roussanne and Bourboulenc varieties is a real kaleidoscope of terroirs integrated in the AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape where they work with organic fertilizers and low yields are obtained. In the winery the fruit is firmly pressed with small presses, the must is left in tank to macerate at relatively cool temperatures for 8 days and then transferred to a combination of barrels, foudres, cement and eggs, respecting the expression of each parcel. Finally, the wine is aged in 500-liter French oak barrels for 20 months.
The result is Rotem & Mounir Saouma Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Magis. A big, round, vibrant wine from the Rhône, born from a taste for simplicity.
2019 | Rotem & Mounir Saouma Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Magis 2019 is a creamy white wine with aromas of stone fruit, mineral notes and floral hints. The palate is round with a slightly oily texture. A hyper-expressive wine with a very good acidity, delicious passage and a long, mineral finish. |
