About Meinklang Roter Mulatschak
Although there are millions of companies in the same sector, each one has its own values that differentiate it from the rest. If this differentiating feature is also integrated into their team’s life philosophy, it becomes unique and special. This is true at Meinklang, a winery that is not just a business, but the story of a family, the Michlits, who have built their life around Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy by being self-sufficient and respecting everything around them. A paradisiacal farm located in Pamhagen im Seewinkel, in the eastern part of Lake Neusiedl, in Burgenland (Austria), with a total of 3,000 hectares full of birds, plants, cows and nature that is typical of the region.
Here the winemaking couple Anneliese and Werner Mitchlit have 70 hectares of vineyards that are worked according to the principles of Demeter biodynamic certification and where they produce wines like this Meinklang Roter Mulatschak. This is a red wine made from the Saint Laurent and Zweigelt varieties, the result of the circular agricultural economy that happens on the farm, where the sandy soils are fertilised with manure from the cattle that graze peacefully on the land. Once the grapes have been harvested by hand, they are co-fermented on the skins in stainless steel tanks for 4 days with native yeasts. The wine is then left for 4 months in these same tanks on its own lees. Finally, it is bottled without filtering or clarifying.
The result is Meinklang Roter Mulatschak, a natural red wine that radiates purity, energy and vitality. A very good introduction to the working philosophy of one of the biggest and best biodynamic wineries in Central Europe.
2020 |
Meinklang Roter Mulatschak 2020 is a juicy red wine with aromas of small red and black fruits, spicy notes and herbal hints. On the palate it is pure, lively and smooth. A very fruity wine with fresh acidity, fine tannins and a distinctive pepper touch. |
