Edetària Lo Mas 2021 is a barrel-aged red wine that stands out for its intense cherry-red hue, exceptionally clean and bright. On the nose, it reveals aromas of raspberries, blackberries, and a hint of floral notes. Upon tasting, it has a broad and very fruity entry, showcasing excellent structure and great complexity. The finish is long and spicy, making it a concentrated and memorable wine.

About Edetària Lo Mas

When something is described as “lo más”, it colloquially means in Spanish that something or someone is extraordinary, outstanding, or exceptional compared to others in the same category. However, this same expression is also used to refer to the peasant houses in the Terra Alta (Catalonia) region. This is how Joan Àngel Lliberia, an oenologist passionately committed to this wine-producing region, introduces us to Edetària Lo Mas, a wine that, like the rest of the wines produced in his winery Edetària, located in the municipality of Gandesa, offers the utmost expression of the terroir.

Edetària Lo Mas is a stunning estate wine crafted from an exclusive selection of old vines of garnacha and cariñena. It is traditionally produced with limited yields, and the harvest is done manually in small boxes at the optimal moment of ripeness. In the winery, the selected, destemmed, and crushed grapes ferment with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, with a prolonged maceration. Afterwards, all the wines are blended, and finally, it ages in French oak barrels for 10 months.

Authenticity, tradition, and originality. Edetària Lo Mas is the pure reflection of a unique terroir. An exceptional work where one can appreciate the dedication and care put into every stage of the winemaking process. A wine that not only honours the roots of the region but also offers an unparalleled sensory experience. Undoubtedly, "lo más" of Terra Alta.
