About Barrat Masson Les Volies Brut Nature
Barrat Masson Les Volies Brut Nature is a sparkling wine made with the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varieties by the Barrat Masson Winery in Champagne, France.
This blanc de noirs champagne is a coupage of equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes that grow in plots with predominantly calcareous and clay soils. The vines are cultivated using organic agriculture. Barrat Masson Les Volies Brut Nature ferments in 600-litre oak barrels and ages on lees for 9 months. This champagne has no dosage in order to showcase its full natural fruit and mineral potential.
Barrat Masson is a young winery set up in 2011 by Aurelie Masson and Löic Barrat who recovered an old family estate in Villenauxe-la Grande, with a dream to make the champagnes they had always wanted: great quality sparkling wines, and they have done it!
They have 7 hectares of vineyards located between Aube and El Marne. The vines are cultivated without any chemical products and since 2009, they have held organic certification. They vinify each plot separately with minimal intervention and minimal sulphur. They bottle their champagnes without clarifying or filtering and they are all disgorged “à la volée”, or manually.
