About Antoine Sanzay Saumur-Champigny Les Poyeux
Antoine Sanzay Saumur-Champigny Les Poyeux is a biodynamic monovarietal Cabernet Franc red wine from the AOC Saumur Champigny Rouge, in the Loire area, produced by Domaine Antoine Sanzay.
Domaine Antoine Sanzay is a winery with 11 hectares of vineyards in Saumur and Saumur Champigny run by Antoine Sanzay. In 1999 he took over the vineyards from his grandparents, who previously sold the grapes to the cooperative. It cultivates following the principles of biodynamics, and with as little intervention as possible in the winery, with the aim of allowing its terroir be fully expressed.
The vineyards for Antoine Sanzay Saumur-Champigny Les Poyeux have an average age of 50 years and are planted on Late Turonian limestone sand and clay-limestone soils. They form a 2 hectare estate facing south-southeast. They are cultivated following the principles of biodynamics, and are manually harvested so that the grapes arrive in the winery as complete as possible.
Antoine Sanzay Saumur-Champigny Les Poyeux is fermented in concrete vats and macerated with skins for about twenty days. Once the fermentation is finished, the wine is refined in first to third use barrels for about 18 months.
Antoine Sanzay Saumur-Champigny Les Poyeux is a biodynamic wine made from Cabernet Franc It combines power, balance, vibrant fruit, fine tannins and juiciness.

2015 | Antoine Sanzay Saumur-Champigny Les Poyeux 2015 has concentrated aromas that open up when the bottle is uncorked. Harmoniously combined fine spices, black fruit and subtle hints of oak appear. On the palate it perfectly balances the fruit, freshness, minerality and muscular tannins. |
