About Hervé Souhaut Romaneaux Destezet Blanc

The story of Hervé Souhaut is one that exemplifies how passions can transform lives. After completing his studies in biology, Hervé found himself drawn to the world of wine. His wife, Beatrice, hailing from Ardèche, has deep-rooted ties to viticulture, and together they left the city of Paris to relocate to the heart of the Rhône Valley. There, in the 1990s, he met two pioneers of natural winemaking in the region, René Jean Dard and François Ribo. Under their guidance, Hervé learned the secrets of crafting genuine, unadulterated wine, and in 1993, he decided to forge his own path at Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet.

Today, under his name Hervé Souhaut, he cultivates 5 hectares of vineyard, with some vines over 50 years old, producing approximately 25,000 bottles annually that speak volumes of his dedication and respect for the terroir.

Hervé Souhaut Romaneaux Destezet Blanc is a gem that embodies all that hard work and passion. This wine is crafted from a blend of the indigenous varieties viognier and roussanne, grown under biodynamic practices in relatively young vineyards (around 10 years old) on granite-rich soils.

In the winery, the grapes for Hervé Souhaut Romaneaux Destezet Blanc are directly pressed, and the resulting must ferments with native yeasts and ages on fine lees for 12 months. Finally, the wine is bottled unfiltered, preserving its purity and natural expressiveness. With an SO2 content of less than 25 mg/l, it offers a natural oenological experience that transports you directly to the Rhône region.
