About Coto de Gomariz

Coto de Gomáriz Blanco is a white wine from Leiro (Orense)  in D.O. Ribeiro, an area with a great viticultural tradition and heritage dating back to the 10th century. Coto de Gomáriz Blanco is a coupage of four different varieties; Treixadura (70%), Godello, Loureiro and Albariño.
 

The Coto de Gomáriz winery, founded in the 70’s, began by recovering vineyards of native varities, and is now home to 28 hectares of vineyards, planted with a range of grape varieties on grantite, shale and clay soils, cultivated using organic and biodynamic techniques. The harvest is carried out manually, using small 18 kg boxes. The grapes are also passed through a selection table.

At the winery, the grapes are pressed and static racking is carried out to clean the juice, which then undergoes fermentation at low temperatures to conserve the aromas. The wine then rests for a few months in stainless steel tanks.

As you draw closer, distinct mineral undertones emerge, interwoven with scents reminiscent of freshly sliced apples and pears, all beautifully framed by a gentle waft of spices such as ginger and delicate floral notes. On the palate, it presents itself as smooth and well-rounded, with flavors that conjure the zesty essence of orange peel and lemon, followed by a subtle bitterness akin to quince. Its finish is harmonious and lingers, beckoning you to continue savoring its defined crispness.

Coto de Gomariz 2021 is a white wine that on the nose presents a bouquet reminiscent of stone fruits, complemented by citrus and floral undertones, along with hints of ginger and sweet spices. On the palate, it glides smoothly, with a pronounced yet pleasant acidity and a delightfully mineral edge. A balanced, aromatic, and full-bodied white wine.

Coto de Gomariz 2020 is a dynamic and adaptable white wine. Olfactorily, it's exuberant and fragrant, exhibiting mineral undertones, sweet spices, ginger, and floral accents. On the palate, it presents as well-rounded and silky, interlaced with zesty flavors of citrus (orange, lemon) and quince. The finish is harmonious and lingering. It's compellingly moreish.
2014 Succulent and fruity. Exuding elegance, it boasts a superb acidity.
