Château Poujeaux 2022 is a concentrated red wine with aromas of ripe black fruit accompanied by pencil shavings notes and sweet earthy undertones. It is deep, powerful, and elegant on the palate. About Château Poujeaux

Located west of Margaux, the Moulis vineyards (the smallest denomination in Médoc) occupy just over 600 hectares in a very flat area with gentle slopes, it is quite a bit cooler than other areas in the Médoc due to its distance from the Gironde. One of the wineries that really knows how to make this great little denomination shine is the famous Chateau Poujeaux. And although the Cru Mouli is not the best known of the Médoc, the wines from this emblematic winery are a delight that have nothing to envy to their neighbours in the AOC Margaux. Currently owned by the Cuvelier family, this is a 70-hectare estate on a single plot whose soils composed of “croupes de graves”, which in the Médoc dialect means “mound”, are perfect for making elegant and powerful wines.

This is how Château Poujeaux, its eponymous wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, is produced. A Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel that is made in a way that respects the personality of each plot, of each grape variety and gives the wine a wonderful unique personality. Respect for traditional methods and, at the same time, the use of the most advanced techniques and manual harvesting all mean that the raw material reaches the winery in optimal condition. When it comes to vinifying the grapes, they continue working by plot with temperature-controlled fermentation in small tanks and finally the three wines are aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new.

Made by a legendary Bordeaux winery and one of the most famous in the AOC Moulis-en-Médoc, Château Poujeaux is a powerful wine in the style of the Médoc Grands Crus Classés. A complex, generous and rounded red wine that lives up to its AOC and is undoubtedly the result of the alchemy of nature combined with the rational work of man.
