About Celler Sanromà Escumós Blanc

Albert Einstein, Pablo Picasso and even Steve Jobs did not excel in the classroom… and yet they left an indelible mark in their fields. Eduard Sanromà, oenologist and proprietor of Celler Sanromà in Vila-Rodona (Catalonia), was also not a model student, but his curiosity about the family vineyard evolved into a professional passion, and today he is a benchmark for wine in Tarragona. What began as a game among the vines transformed into a serious venture, grounded in experimentation, patience, and an unwavering respect for the terroir.

At Celler Sanromà, every decision seeks to let the vineyard speak for itself. Agriculture and viticulture are approached with meticulous care. Biodiversity is protected, the character of each plot is respected, and nature is allowed to set the pace. The result is wines that embody Vila-Rodona, blending family tradition with a modern and daring touch.

His Escumós Blanc is a testament to this philosophy. 100% parellada, from vines approximately 22 years old on calcareous and clay soils. It ferments with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel at controlled temperatures and spends at least 4 months in the bottle before hitting the market. With minimal intervention, low sulfites (<10 mg/L) and unfiltered, the sediments are part of its natural character.

The result is a fresh, elegant, and complex petnat that reflects the terroir and the dedication of its caretaker. Each bottle of Escumós Blanc demonstrates that the curiosity Eduard had as a child —that which did not shine in class— was the spark that led him to become a luminary in his world.
