Carmelo Rodero Crianza 2023 is a red wine that exudes elegance from the first glance at the glass. About Carmelo Rodero Crianza

Carmelo Rodero Crianza is a red wine from DO Ribera del Duero, produced by Bodegas Rodero. The winery is a family project initiated by Carmelo Rodero in the village of Pedrosa de Duero, south of Burgos.

Furthermore, in the beginning, Carmelo Rodero was honoured for selling grapes to the Vega Sicilia winery for 14 years, one of the most internationally recognized Spanish wineries. Carmelo Rodero Crianza is a blend of Tempranillo (90%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). The grapes come from vineyards over 15 years old.

They are planted at an altitude of between 750 and 850m and withstand extreme weather, winters are very cold with strong winds and summers very hot.

Regarding the soil where they are planted, they are clay, with pebbles and sand. These features contribute to a low production vineyard but of great quality. For the preparation of Carmelo Rodero Crianza, grapes are manually selected on a table. Once stemmed and soaked cold for several days, the grapes are passed by gravity into stainless steel tanks for a temperature controlled fermentation.

Finally, Carmelo Rodero Crianza is aged for 15 months in French and American oak barrels, racked every three months.

Once bottled, Carmelo Rodero Crianza rests in the bottle for at least 12 months before going to market.

Its finish is long and pleasant, leaving a sensation of softness that invites continued enjoyment.

Fruit is presented with great force. Red fruit and ripe black fruit combined with enticing roasted notes and a touch of liquorice to finish.

2008 A bulky, well-bodied wine, which fills the mouth. It has an envelopping attack, notes of fruit with all kind of nuances and creamy wooden aromas. It has a tasty, silky and long mid palate, a good acidity and well integrated tannins. Long finish with a good persistence that leaves a pleasant toasted aftertaste.  A nice, mature and expressive, which will not disappoint us.

Intense cherry colour with maroon edges. Clean and bright wine with a high layer. Good and elegant tears.

Intense and very expressive aromas with marked notes of juicy, ripe and fleshy black fruit that give way to the elegant notes provided by the oak: intense toasted and very creamy aromas, abundant spicy notes and an intense and delicate liquorice background. It is a very harmonious and balanced wine, especially once it opens up.
2007 Good attack and a long, tasty, meaty and intense mid palate. It shows abundant notes of fruit and creamy toasted aromas. Very good acidity. It has an excellent structure and well integrated tannins. Long and persistent finish. A nice, ripe and expressive wine that will not disappoint us.

Intense and clear aromas among which the notes of ripe black fruit are mixed with sweet spices, elegant toasted notes, a creamy milky touch  and outstanding aromas of liquorice on a good mineral background.
2006 Characteristic Ribera del Duero wine with intense and tasty attack. Fleshy and slightly warm mid palate. Excellent bouquet with good persistence that reminds the aromas in the nose. Balanced wine with a medium length finish.

Ruby red colour with notes of cherry. Clean and bright.

The typical aromas of Tinta Fina are the first to appear. As time goes by, the roasted notes gently emerge accompanied by a final touch of licorice.
2005 Meaty, slightly warm, medium acidity and great tannins. Average persistence and balsamic aftertaste, characteristic of Ribera wines.

Red garnet, good layer.

Good intensity with aromas of milk chocolate, red fruits, cherries in brandy.
