This medium to full-bodied champagne features zesty acidity, a delicate and seamlessly integrated effervescence, and an intensely saline finish.

About Bérêche & Fils Mailly-Champagne Grand Cru

Cultivating a unique hallmark does not always stem from innovation. Raphael and Vincent Bérêche serve as a prime example of how small vignerons can position themselves as leading artisanal wineries within the prestigious AOC Champagne, venerating the heritage passed down from generation to generation since 1847. Alongside their father Jean-Pierre, from whom the winery Bérêche & Fils takes its name, they have forged a distinctive identity through the production of biodynamic wines from their 9 hectares of vineyards nestled in the French village of Ludes (Champagne).

One of their notable offerings, Bérêche & Fils Mailly-Champagne Grand Cru, is a sparkling wine crafted from the pinot noir variety, grown in a small plot adhering to biodynamic principles and eschewing harmful chemicals for fertilizers and pesticides. The grapes are handpicked into 10-kilogram baskets to preserve the integrity of the raw material. Once carefully transported to the winery, they undergo maceration and fermentation naturally, without additives and with indigenous yeasts in oak barrels. Subsequently, following the traditional method, a second fermentation occurs in the bottle over 24 months. Finally, disgorgement is performed with a dosage of three grams per liter.

With creations like the Bérêche & Fils Mailly-Champagne Grand Cru, the Bérêche family is lauded in the Champagne region for their distinctively refined palate that captures the essence of terroir. Their philosophy is fundamentally a commitment to preserving traditions.
