Suertes del Marqués Vidonia 2024 is a white wine that transports us directly to the volcanic soils of the Canary Islands with each sip. Its bouquet combines ripe peach, molasses, and wildflowers, hinting at the richness of a little-known yet fascinating region. On the palate, it is creamy and spiced, with a balance that merges power and finesse, unfolding elegant and complex layers to a mineral finish that recalls the island's strength and purity. About Suertes del Marqués Vidonia

Suertes del Marqués Vidonia is a white wine aged on lees made in the D.O. Orotava Valley, in the Canary Islands by Suertes del Marqués with the Listán Blanca native variety.
 
Located in the famous wine-growing region of La Orotava (Las Suertes), Suertes del Marqués was founded in 2006 by Francisco Javier García Núñez with the aim of preserving and promoting the local winemaking customs. An estate with 21 plots identified according to their soil, climate, orientation and altitude that are cultivated and vinified separately to showcase the personality of the terroir. All this work has earned them recognition as one of the most important wineries in the Canary Islands. 
 
Suertes del Marqués Vidonia comes from three of the winery’s plots lying at an altitude of 350 to 520 metres above sea level. These are hundred-year-old vines planted in volcanic soils and cultivated using traditional agriculture with the unique vine training system of braided cordons. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested manually. 
 
In the winery, the Suertes del Marqués Vidonia grapes are gently pressed in whole bunches and the resulting must is racked into 500-litre French oak barrels to begin alcoholic fermentation with native yeasts. After 10 months of aging, the wine is ready for bottling.
 
Under the name Vidonia, which was the name given to Tenerife’s white wines in the 17th century, Suertes del Marqués Vidonia is a tribute to a winemaking tradition that was well known in the United Kingdom and the Antilles at the time. A combination of delicacy and power in total balance.

Suertes del Marqués Vidonia 2023 is a white wine distinguished by its lightness and freshness. On the nose, it reveals aromas of green apple and pear, accompanied by citrus notes that add liveliness. On the palate, it exhibits a balanced acidity that enhances its finesse and elegance. Although slightly more reserved than its predecessor, its complexity and subtlety make it highly intriguing.

On the nose, it unfurls a spectrum of scents, with green apple and peach taking center stage, complemented by subtle citrus undertones. This white wine is an ode to the purity of the fruit and the sophistication of its craftsmanship.

Suertes del Marques Vidonia 2019 is a juicy red wine with intense, complex aromas of ripe yellow fruit, notes of dried herbs and hints of dried fruit and spice. On the palate it is tasty, fine and full. A wine with a good structure and a curiously bitter finish.
