About Oddero Langhe Nebbiolo

Oddero Langhe Nebbiolo is a monovarietal Nebbiolo red wine from the DOC Langhe, produced by Poderi e Cantine Oddero.

Poderi e Cantine Oddero is a historic family winery among producers in Barolo. It was founded in 1878 in Langhe, in Piedmont. Today it remains in the hands of the same family. They own 35 hectares of vineyards and work based on traditional know-how and using new production techniques to produce high quality grapes and wines.

The vineyards for Oddero Langhe Nebbiolo are located in La Morra and Santa Maria Bricco San Biagio. They are located 200 metres above sea level and face east. The planting density is around 4,000 plants per hectare, and they are trained in Guyot style. The vineyards are around 15 years old, and they produce around 8,000 kg/ha. Their total area is 2 hectares.

Oddero Langhe Nebbiolo is harvested manually to be able to select the best bunches while still in the field. Once in the cellar, the wine ferments and macerates for 15 days. It then undergoes malolactic fermentation and lastly the wine ages in different barrels for a year or a year and a half. It is bottled in the autumn and the total production is around 15,000 bottles.

Oddero Langhe Nebbiolo is a red wine with limited production that is delicious on the nose and pleasant on the palate.
2017 Oddero Langhe Nebbiolo 2017 is a wine that has a ruby colour, a pleasant bouquet of violets and red fruit, pleasant tannins and a somewhat earthy aftertaste.
