About Künstler Riesling Trocken

Künstler Riesling Trocken is a Riesling variety white wine made in the Rheingau region by the Künstler winery.

Founded in 1648, the winery was originally located 80 km north of Vienna (Moravia). This is where the Künstler family worked their vineyards until they were forced to emigrate during World War 2. In 1965, Frank Künstler decided to settle in one of the areas where the Riesling variety is most famous, in Hockenheim (Rheingau) to produce wines with a unique quality and character. Now his son Gunter Künstler upholds the family tradition by having the winery accepted into the VDP (German Association of Superior Quality Wines).

Künstler Riesling Trocken grapes grow on different soils with different characteristics. Clay soils lying near the Main river, cultivated using ecological and environmentally friendly methods. When the grape reaches optimum ripeness, it is harvested by hand.

In the winery, the Künstler Riesling Trocken grape is gently pressed. The must then undergoes alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. It then ages on its lees for 6 months before being bottled.

Künstler Riesling Trocken is a dry white wine made with the Riesling variety. A great introduction to Weingut Künstler.
2017 Künstler Riesling Trocken 2017 is an aromatic white wine with notes of stone fruit, citrus and herbs. The palate is vibrant, balanced and mineral with a refreshing acidic finish.
