About Goliardo Espadeiro

A new Goliardo produced under the directions of Rodrigo Méndez and Raúl Pérez. This wine is made of Espadeiro, a nearly extinct local variety that is being recovered. It is produced with grapes from hundred-year-old vineyards, following a traditional winemaking process. After that, this wine undergoes 12-month ageing in used French oak barrels. Very limited production: only one barrel. It is recommended to aerate the wine for a minimum of 30 minutes and if possible for an hour, since this wine is very much closed at the beginning. A very different and amazing wine with an Atlantic character. A rarity!
2009 A structured and rustic Galician red wine with a good attack and an outstanding freshness. Its notes of wood are strong but the ripe fruit stands out, although this trend is progressively reversed. These aromas are released along with creamy and herbal notes and some saline touches. Dry but polished tannins. Intense but compensated acidity. Long and persistent finish. An intense and very fresh easy-drinking wine that will improve over the time.

Deep cherry red with violet edges. High layer. Very good tear.

Medium intensity and great complexity. Its subtle notes of red fruits are released along with vegetal, balsamic (eucalyptus) and forest aromas. When it opens up, it gains lots of intensity, becomes clearer and its spicy notes are released along with some hints of coffee and Indian ink and light smoky and incense touches on an intense mineral background.
