Tasting notes Domaine de Trevallon Alpilles Rouge 2013
Red wine Aged in wood Organic. 24 meses en barrica.
Domaine de Trévallon Alpilles Rouge 2013 is a true gem of the Rhône. At first glance, it dazzles with its deep crimson hue. On the nose, the wine unfurls a powerful and elegant aromatic spectrum, where notes of raspberries and fresh cherries are distinctly perceived. Hints of white pepper and liquorice add an intriguing spicy touch. As it breathes, delicate reminiscences of Mediterranean herbs such as thyme emerge, with undertones of black olive and game meat. On the palate, it surprises with its direct entry and overwhelming honesty. The silkiness of its tannins is the perfect prelude to unleash the breadth and complexity that characterise it. During the tasting, notes of blackcurrant, a gentle smoky touch, and a mineral salinity echo fill the palate, culminating in a prolonged and elegant finish. An exceptional vintage, where the remarkable tannic structure and its aromatic complexity make it a highly recommended choice for those seeking a memorable oenological experience.

About Domaine de Trevallon Alpilles Rouge
There are names that leave a mark, often because they refuse to follow the conventional path. Eloi Dürrbach is one such name. He abandoned his architecture career to devote himself to the family estate in the Alpilles of Provence, and with daring and vision, transformed Trévallon into a benchmark for Provençal viticulture. His boldness was evident in his blends, incorporating more cabernet sauvignon than permitted by the AOC Baux-de-Provence. Nevertheless, his work won over critics and wine enthusiasts, proving that breaking the rules can lead to excellence. Today, his children Antoine and Ostiane continue his legacy, upholding their father's philosophy: an unwavering respect for the land, meticulous craftsmanship, and wines that embody character and terroir.
This daring spirit is fully expressed in Domaine de Trévallon Alpilles Rouge. Its vineyards of cabernet sauvignon and syrah, planted on the northern slopes of the Alpilles near Saint-Étienne-du-Grès, thrive in exceptionally stony clay-limestone soils. From the beginning, the vineyard has been cultivated organically, without synthetic pesticides or herbicides, with regular tillage and conservative pruning that limits yields and concentrates the fruit's expression. Fermentation is carried out with whole clusters, without added yeasts or sulphur, and the wine is clarified with fresh egg whites, unfiltered, to preserve its purity and aromatic complexity.
Finally, the 24-month maturation in large oak foudres, with minimal racking, enhances the minerality, elegance, and depth of this red. With its masterful blend of power and subtlety, Trévallon Alpilles Rouge is evidence of how audacity, vision, and passion can transform a family legacy into a legend of Provençal wine.
