About Thierry Mortet Chambolle Musigny

Thierry Mortet Chambolle Musigny is a single-variety biodynamic Pinot Noir red wine produced by Domaine Thierry Mortet under the A.O.C. Chambolle-Musigny, in Burgundy, France.

Thierry Mortet Chambolle Musigny is made with clusters that come from a single 22 hectare plot with strains aged around 45 years planted on fine clay and limestone soils. The harvest is carried out manually and the grapes are selected in the vineyard and in the winery on a sorting table. The clusters are 100% destemmed and placed in the winemaking tank where they spend 5 days cold macerating. When fermentation begins, the cap is plunged twice a day for 15 days.

The resulting wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and then ages for 16 months in oak barrels, only a quarter of which are new.

Thierry Mortet comes from a long-standing winegrowing family in Burgundy. In 1992, having inherited half of his father Charles Mortet’s vineyards, Thierry and his brother Denis started their own projects. Thierry works according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture and has total respect for the environment.
2019

Thierry Mortet Chambolle Musigny 2019 is an expressive white. On the nose it is delicate and elegant, with great aromatic persistence and hints of blackberries and violets. On the palate it is silky, maintaining that character. Energetic finish. 
2017 Thierry Mortet Chambolle Musigny 2017 is a red wine with aromas of cherries and violets on the nose. On the palate it is smooth with a silky texture and flavours of raspberries and small fresh berries. A long-lasting, fresh and extremely elegant wine with fine and smooth tannins.
