About Le Coste Litrozzo Rosso

Le Coste Litrozzo Rosso is a youthful natural red wine crafted by the winery Le Coste using the merlot, cliegiolo, and sangiovese grape varieties in the Italian region of Lazio.

Le Coste was established in 2004 by Gianmarco Antonuzzi and Clementine Bouveron beside the volcanic lake Bolsena in northern Lazio (Italy). They currently manage 14 hectares of land where vines, olive trees, chestnuts, shrubs, and oaks coexist. They practice organic farming and produce natural wines with minimal intervention to enhance the innate characteristics of a spectacular territory.

Although not certified, the vineyards of Le Coste Litrozzo Rosso are cultivated following biodynamic principles. These are young vines planted in volcanic soils rich in iron and minerals, with a density of up to 10,000 plants per hectare, and are tended manually without the use of chemicals, respecting the natural balance of the terroir.

Once the grapes are destemmed at the winery, Le Coste Litrozzo Rosso undergoes a gentle vinification to avoid excessive extraction. This involves a spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts for only 8 days in concrete tanks. After pressing, it returns to the vat to undergo malolactic fermentation without the skins. Finally, it is bottled without fining or stabilisation.

Le Coste Litrozzo Rosso is a limited-production red wine that exquisitely captures the natural energy of the wine itself. A youthful and lively wine, easy to share and enjoy.
2018 Le Coste Litrozzo Rosso 2018 is a juicy red wine with aromas of small red fruits like cherry and raspberry. On the palate it is light, smooth and fruity. A young and bright red wine with light, clean tannins and a pleasant, fresh finish.
