About La Morandina Moscato d'Asti

There are families who never had to pack their bags. Some, fortunately, never had to flee from wars or cross borders in search of bread or peace. There are families who simply stayed. Who put down roots as deep as those of their vineyards. Who learned to listen to their land and to live from it, generation after generation.

One such family resides in Castiglione Tinella, in the heart of Piemonte (Italy), where the hills seem to whisper wine recipes. There, the Morando family has been cultivating vineyards for centuries, knowing exactly which plot yields the most intense aroma, which hillside holds the ideal coolness, and which harvest can wait another day. Brothers Giulio and Paolo Morando did not learn this from books; they learned it by walking, tending, and drinking their own history.

La Morandina is the name of their winery and also one of their most brilliant treasures; Moscato d’Asti. A wine born from the hills of Santo Stefano Belbo, at 300 metres above sea level, on sun-drenched calcareous soils of Piemonte. The star is moscato bianco, handpicked and naturally fermented in autoclave. Fermentation is halted before the sugar is completely transformed, just enough to bottle that gentle and playful effervescence that characterises it.

Enveloping aromas, subtle sweetness, elegant bubbles, and a freshness that can only arise from a meticulously tended vineyard. That is La Morandina Moscato d’Asti. A wine that springs from a love for the land and the fortune of having grown up in peace.
