About Esprit Nature de Giraud

Esprit Nature de Giraud is a brut sparkling wine crafted by the esteemed Henri Giraud house using the varietals Pinot Noir and Chardonnay within the AOC Champagne region, in the famed Champagne area of France.
 
The winery, described by the renowned critic Robert Parker as "the greatest Champagne house virtually no one has ever heard of", Henri Giraud has a heritage dating back to the 17th century. Situated in the heart of Champagne, in the town of Aÿ, the 12th generation, spearheaded by Claude Giraud, crafts sparkling wines using the traditional champenoise method, with the unique distinction of vinifying their wines in barrels to achieve an exceptional character.
 
Esprit Nature de Giraud originates from vineyards planted on soils classified as Grand Cru in the Marne Valley. These vines are rooted in terroirs primarily composed of sand and clay, which have been traditionally and sustainably cultivated from one generation to the next.
 
After the selection of the finest grapes, the must of Esprit Nature de Giraud undergoes fermentation in wooden barrels at a controlled temperature. Following the champenoise method, the cuvée then experiences a secondary fermentation in the bottle, maturing on lees in the cellar for 18 months. The process concludes with disgorgement and dosage.
 
However, it's important to note that the name of this champagne, Esprit Nature de Giraud, is not indicative of its dosage level, as it is classified as brut. With Nature, Henri Giraud alludes to its place of origin, yielding a champagne with a delightful mineral essence.
