About Château Lynch Bages

Château Lynch-Bages is a red wine made by Château Lynch-Bages with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot varieties in the prestigious AOC Pauillac, in Bordeaux (France).
 
Château Lynch-Bages is one of the most prestigious wineries in France. Although the Lynch family owned the estate for 75 years from 1749, the name was not reinstated until the property was sold to the Cayrou brothers in 1862. It is now owned by Jean Michel Cazes who completely renovated the facilities and his wine is one of the most appreciated in Bordeaux. 
 
Château Lynch-Bages is a cuvée that comes from an exceptional vineyard planted in the gravel hills of the Garonne. There are 9,000 vines/ha. spread across a total area of 90 ha. The vines are 35 years old, on average, and are planted in gravel, limestone and sand soils. They are cultivated using traditional agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
 
In the winery, the Château-Lynch Bages grapes are selected and destemmed and, once crushed, they ferment in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine then ages for 18 months in French oak barrels, 75% of which are new. 
 
Only made in the best vintages, Château Lynch-Bages is an aristocratic wine from the prestigious AOC Pauilla. A noble cuvée belonging to the elite group of Grand Cru Classé wines.
