About Château Lafitte Litre

When someone says "I could drink it by the litre" they are not speaking of thirst; they are speaking of desire, of pleasure. These are the wines that go down smoothly and beckon you for another sip without warning. In the case of Château Lafitte Litre, the expression is not an exaggeration; it is a genuine declaration of intent in a bottle.

For over 30 years, Philippe and Brigitte Arraou have been at the helm of Château Lafitte in Aquitaine, France, with a very clear vision: to place the vineyard at the heart of everything. It is a patient and consistent endeavour, without artifice or pretence, driven more by hands-on work than by rhetoric.

A whole approach that took a decisive leap in 2012, when their son Antoine joined the project. The estate then embraced organic and biodynamic viticulture, naturally progressing, without forced labels, towards the production of authentic, vibrant wines full of character.

Château Lafitte Litre originates from 5 hectares of very old vineyards of gros manseng and petit manseng, so venerable that among the vines some indigenous varieties remain yet to be identified. A small botanical mystery that adds charm to the ensemble. The vinification is carried out in concrete eggs, without additives and with a minimal dose of sulphur. Just enough for the wine to express itself with complete freedom.

The result? Château Lafitte Litre. A lively, honest wine brimming with character, one of those wines not to be over-analysed, but enjoyed. And indeed; one of those that, before you know it, you drink by the litre.
