More about Volver

History

Bodegas Volver was founded in 2004 by Jorge Ordoñez and Rafael Cañizares, two of the people responsible for the international boom of Spanish wines in the 1990s.
When everyone associated Spanish wines with a short list of questionable Riojas and cheap Jerez wines, these two visionaries recovered old, abandoned vineyards in previously unheard of areas such as the DO Jumilla. At the same time, Jorge Ordoñez restarted exporting Spanish wines, creating a new type of customer and showing the world the potential of Spanish wine.

Currently, Bodegas Volver produces wine under the DOs of Jumilla, Castilla la Mancha and Alicante.

The distinctive seal of the winery is the artisanal production using autochtonous Spanish varieties from very old, less productive but high quality vines.

Philosophy

Rafael Cañizares, oenologist of Bodegas Volver, has one goal: to obtain the highest quality in wine production, from vine to bottle.

This work process is based on persistence and hard work in chasing one's dreams.

Wines from Bodegas Volver

Generally, all wines that pass by the hands of Rafael Cañizares are full bodied and structured, with lots of body and good harmony between the fruit and wood.

A good example of this is Tarima Hill, one of the most prestigious red wines of this cellar, which has received excellent scores from Robert Parker on several occasions.
