Seis de Luberri is a red wine from the La Rioja prepared by the Luberri cellar. This varietal Tempranillo is a typical variety of the area.
The grapes come from vineyards that occupy about 29 hectares. They range from the Ebro to few meters of the Sierra de Cantabria.
The cultivation of the vine is done whilst trying to intervene as little as possible in the natural processes. The harvest is manual and takes place in mid-September.
Development of Seis de Luberri follows the traditional method of carbonic maceration. With this, the whole bunches are dumped into tanks so that the grapes do not break and keep their characteristics. This process takes between 8 and 10 days at a controlled temperature of 28 degrees. It then ages for six months before being bottled and marketed.
Luberri is owned by Monje Amestoy family, headed today by Florentino Martinez Monje. According to his words, "Luberri is a life project through which we express our understanding of wine, to live it, to enjoy it and we do enjoy it."
