Santa Cruz de Artazu is a red wine made by Artazu wineries in Navarra.

Bodegas Artazu is one of the wineries that make up the group known as Artadi. Santa Cruz de Artazu is a varietal Grenache. In 1996 Artadi acquired some old vines of more than 60 years old in the town of Artazu, a town with a great wine tradition located in the northernmost area of Navarra.
The vines are planted on white clay-limestone soil between 400 and 600 meters above sea level. Poor soils, together with a harsh climate, offer a high quality grape. Artazu winery uses environmentally friendly techniques, without the use of herbicides or pesticides.
The harvest is done manually in small boxes of 15 kg. Once in the winery, a selection of fruits and grains takes place The vinification process takes place in open tanks with a cold maceration lasting 48 hours and fermentation lasting 10-12 days, the grapes are also trodden on a daily basis.
Santa Cruz de Artazu is aged for 12 months in 500 litre French oak barrels. It is a wine that can be consumed now or after 15 years under optimal conditions.

A project of Bodegas Artadi in the population of Artazu. Ten hectares of old vines and the idea of an honest wine with a traditional varieties in the area: the grenache.
Some wine regions have to bear the weight of their own prestige and fame, and this is certainly the case for Navarra. For many years, the white and reds produced in this region came second to the rosés produced here with the noble Grenacha variety. However, the last two decades have seen ongoing changes in the wine-making sector in Navarra, changes which have completely transformed the styles of wine produced and have been consistently worthwhile, resulting in  some of the white and red wines produced in Navarra being ranked among best rated in Spain.
