Palazzo Rosso di Montalcino is a wood-aged red wine made by Palazzo with the Sangiovese variety in the DOC Rosso di Montalcino, in Tuscany, Italy.

In 1983 Cosimo Loia acquired an estate with the same name as his wife’s surname. Her name is Antoneinette Palazzo. Whether by chance or by fate, taking on the estate has been a dream come true: living in Montalcino and producing one of the best wines in the world. Today Palazzo wines have reached a level of excellence that reflects the integrity and absolute dedication of the Loia-Palazzo family in an idyllic setting.

Palazzo Rosso di Montalcino comes from a vineyard lying at an altitude of 320 metres above sea level. There is a total of 3 hectares of clay and limestone-rich soils that are traditionally cultivated using only organic fertilisers and pest control agents. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are manually harvested in boxes with a selection process in the vineyard itself.

In the winery, the Palazzo Rosso di Montalcino grapes ferment in 30/40 Hl stainless steel tanks with a maceration of 15-18 days at a controlled temperature of 30°C. The wine then rests for about 12 months in 20/25 Hl Slavonian oak barrels before bottling.

Made on a picturesque estate in the southeast of Montalcino, Palazzo Rosso di Montalcino is a dazzling wine whose flavour shows the complexity as well as the liveliness of a wine of great origin.
