Moteur Pistache Rosé is a rosé wine made by a collaboration between the 4 Kilos winery and Nacho “Pistacho” Martínez in Felanitx, Mallorca.
“We decided to create this project to have fun, to research and to make a new wine for the winery’s Motor series.” Nacho Martínez, wine selection manager at Decántalo, says.
This wine is mainly made from “la viña del Sergi”, a vineyard surrounded by Mediterranean forest and planted with the Syrah variety that has always had a special magnetism. In the winery, the grapes are destemmed and placed in an INOX tank where they macerate for one day together with the Premsal Blanc. Before devatting, the grapes are trodden by foot to extract as much must as possible. The coupage is finished off with 20% of pressed old Callet. The resulting must begins to ferment in an INOX tank and is transferred to a 500-litre barrel and a 225-litre barrel where it finishes fermenting and aging for 9 months.
A rosé wine with a spicy and fruity profile, that is light and long and will develop well in the bottle over the next few years.
In Mallorca, in 2006, Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero created 4Kilos Vinícola (the name comes from the initial investment made by its two partners in pesetas: 4 million pesetas). This winery produces wines that reflect the strength of the grape and its nuances, but with a different approach and presentation. The labeling is spectacular, unique and different.
