Lagar da Condesa is a white wine from the D.O Rías Baixes produced by the Lagar da Condesa. This is a single variety wine made with Albariño grapes, a common grape in Galician wines.
The harverst of the grapes is carried out with small 15kg capacity boxes, with minimise the risk of rupture and ensure that the grapes arrive in the best condition at the winery. At the winery, the grapes pass through a selection table, where only the best grapes are selected. The selected grapes undergo a short maceration with the skins before being lightly pressed.
Part of the juice of Lagar da Condesa is left to ferment in 500-600litre capacity barrels. The rest, however, ferments on its lees in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 4 months.
Lagar da Condesa runs under the direction of David Landin and is located in the town of Caldes del Rey, which has a large viticultural heritage. The first harvest of the winery was back in 2013, and all of their wines are produced with Albariño grapes.
