Weinland Österreich (Vienna)
Hajszan Neumann Nussberg Riesling is a biodynamic, organic white wine made on lees by the Austrian winery Hajszan Neumann in Vienna with the Riesling variety.
Hajszan Neumann is a winery located in Grinzing. It’s the most famous wine-growing district in Vienna due to the mineral-rich marine limestone and the degraded calcareous soils of the Nussberg mountain. There Fritz Wieninger, a prestigious Austrian winemaker, produces very elegant biodynamic wines with a great expressive character.
Hajszan Neumann Nussberg Riesling originates from soils with a high content of clay, limestone and chalk. The vines are grown organically and according to the rules of Rudolph Steiner, the founder of biodynamic agriculture. The harvest is manual and with a meticulous selection in the vineyard.
In the cellar, the Hajszan Neumann Nussberg Riesling grapes are macerated for 6 hours and then carefully pressed. The resulting must is fermented in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts at a low temperature. It’s bottled after spending a moderate time on its lees.
Hajszan Neumann Nussberg Riesling is a wine from the Nussberg mountain. A fresh, fruity and deeply mineral white wine.
