Godelia Viernes is a red wine from the D.O. Bierzo made by Bodegas Godelia. The bodega lies in the district of Pieros, a privileged setting which bears witness to the passage of countless pilgrims making their way to Santiago de Compostela. Godelia has reinvented itself to stand alongside the other bodegas in the region as a fine representative of the special character and spirit of El Bierzo.
This wine is made 100% with Mencía grapes from one of the winery's vineyards, with vines between 12 and 21 years of age, situated at 500-700 metres above sea level.
The grapes are strictly and painstakingly selected in the vineyard. The harvest is carried out manually, using 15 kg boxes. The grapes are gently destemmed and go through the winemaking process in 150hl stainless steel deposits. The wine ferments and macerates with its skins from between 12 and 15 days.
