Giovanni Menti Roncaie Frizzante Sui Lieviti is a sparkling wine made with the native Garganega variety by Giovanni Menti in the Italian region of Veneto.
Giovanni Menti founded his winery at the end of the 19th century to produce wines for enjoying at home. However, in the 1970s, his son decided to start bottling and selling his productions. This work has been passed down generation to generation and the winery is currently run by Stefano Menti, who has chosen to use natural and biodynamic methods to achieve the maximum expression of the terroir.
Giovanni Menti Roncaie Frizzante Sui Lieviti comes from a 0.8 hectare vineyard characterised by terroirs with volcanic soils of alluvial origin, lying 80 metres above sea level. The vines are cultivated using organic agriculture with biodynamic treatments and the harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the Giovanni Menti Roncaie Frizzante Sui Lieviti grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. They ferment spontaneously with native yeasts and no temperature control. After a period of aging on the lees, this wine is bottled to begin a second fermentation with natural yeasts and sugar and without added sulphites.
Giovanni Menti Roncaie Frizzante Sui Lieviti is a frizzante wine made using the ancient method. A smooth and fruity sparkling wine with a very subtle gas sensation, reminiscent of the “glu glu” style.
