Characteristics Château La Lagune
Château La Lagune is a red wine coupage of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot varieties produced by Château La Lagune in the AOC Haut-Médoc, in Bordeaux, France.
The grapes used to make Château La Lagune come from vines planted in soils composed of gravels and cultivated according to the principles of organic agriculture. The harvest is carried out manually to protect the integrity of the grapes as much as possible. When the grapes reach the winery, they undergo traditional vinification with controlled temperature fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
The resulting wine is aged for around 18 months, depending on the vintage, with 50% in new French oak barrels.
For Caroline Frey, winemaker and owner of Château La Lagune, each of their wines tells a story. For many years, she has worked to establish organic viticulture in her vineyards to preserve the natural heritage, showcase the essence of the terroir and look after the health of all the winegrowers who work there.
This Château La Lagune 3er. Grand Cru Classé brings together three flagship varieties that are representative of the character and identity of Bordeaux, and the 2016 vintage has been classified by the tasters of prestigious magazine “The Wine Advocate” as one of the best in recent years.
