Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 is a concentrated red wine with aromas of blackberries and blueberries on the nose, nuanced by a cigar box aroma and tobacco spice. On the palate it is full and well-rounded, with hints of cassis, blackcurrants and cedar wood. A red wine with a perfect balance between acidity and fruit with an impressive length.

Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon is a single-variety Cabernet Sauvignon red wine produced by the Boekenhoutskloof winery in the Franschhoek denomination in South Africa.

Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon is made from grapes sourced from four adjacent plots in the southwestern part of the Franschhoek Valley, which has predominantly sandy soils and loam over a granite bedrock.

The clusters are gently vinified to produce a more subtle wine. The harvest is carried out manually with a selective classification of the grapes, which are then taken to the winery in small boxes. When they reach the winery, the bunches are destemmed and cold macerated in a traditional concrete container. Fermentation takes place spontaneously under controlled temperatures ranging from 27ºC to 30ºC and with frequent pump-overs.

The resulting wine undergoes a prolonged malolactic fermentation and is aged in oak barrels from the Sylvain and Saury cooperages.

Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon is an exceptionally full-bodied and round concentrated wine.
