AOC Chinon (Loire)
Bernard Baudry Les Granges is a biodynamic single-variety Cabernet Franc red wine made by Bernard Baudry in the A.O.C. Chinon, in the Loire Valley, France.
The grapes used to make the Bernard Baudry Les Granges wine come from vines planted between 1985 and 1988 in alluvial terraces with gravel and mixed sand soils. The harvest is carried out manually. The grapes ferment for two weeks in cement tanks and the resulting wine ages for seven to ten months, depending on the vintage, also in cement tanks. It is bottled without being filtered.
Bernard Baudry is from a family of winegrowers, with tradition passed down from generation to generation, as he currently works with his son Matthieu on 32 hectares of vineyards lying along the Loire Valley, in the A.O.C. Chinon , where he is a renowned producer.
Committed to the environment and making wines that reflect the landscape and the terroir they come from, Baudry cultivates his vines under the principles of biodynamic agriculture and in doing so, achieves the maximum expression of a Cabernet Franc that has different characteristics depending on where it grows. Wines with their own identity and personality, delicacy and elegance that are a hallmark of this winery.
