Barón de Ley Varietales Garnacha Blanca is a barrel-aged white wine made by the Barón de Ley winery in D.O.Ca. Rioja with the Garnacha Blanca variety.

Barón de Ley is located in an old Benedictine monastery in the town of Mendavia (Navarra) that dates back to the 16th century. Since 1985 the property has been owned by Barón de Ley, a group that specialises mainly in the production of D.O.Ca Rioja wines and that owns more than 600 hectares of their own vineyards.

The vineyards used to make Barón de Ley Varietales Garnacha Blanca surround the monastery. Strains planted at 400 metres above sea level and with a continental climate with clear Mediterranean influences. The harvest is carried out manually into 300 kg boxes, and the grapes reach the winery straight away since its so close by.

In the winery, the grape passes over a double selection table. Barón de Ley Varietales Garnacha Blanca ferments for 20 days at a controlled temperature between 12 and 14ºC in stainless steel tanks. It then rests on lees for 1 month. It ages for 2 months in American oak barrels on its own lees.

Barón de Ley Varietales Garnacha Blanca is a barrel-aged white wine that is fresh, full-bodied and very expressive.

Barón de Ley is one of those Rioja wineries whose first wines were born with a true vocation for the future. There has probably never been a winery in the area of La Rioja of the Navarre area that has been as controversial as Barón de Ley, where the modern character of its wines encountered the first renewed tastes. And Barón de Ley, after a few years producing test wines for another winery, was very clear as to what they wanted to be and what they wanted to do: a winery with a châteaux philosophy, with its own vineyards and a limited production, based on the concept of making single-vineyard wines, modern, in the Bordeaux style but with Rioja class.

From the Tempranillo and Grenache varieties they make great red wines that are masterfully aged which demonstrates the experience passed from generation to generation.
